Objections Quick-Reference Card

Every objection you'll hear in the field — and exactly what to say.

The Golden Rule: Every objection is a question in disguise. Listen fully, acknowledge genuinely, then answer the real question underneath.

Q

"It's too expensive."

A

"I understand — and I want to show you something. What does your homeowners insurance cost per year?" [Get number.] "Once we have Class 4 certification, most carriers drop premiums 20–25%. On a $3,000 policy that's $600–$750 a year back in your pocket. The product literally pays for itself. And we have financing from $69/month — less than most people spend on a streaming service."

Reframe to ROI
Q

"I can't afford it right now."

A

"That's exactly why we built the financing program. You don't need to come up with the money today — or ever, really. We structure the monthly payment to match what you'll save on insurance. Your out-of-pocket cost is zero. Can I show you the numbers?"

Financing close
Q

"I need to think about the money."

A

"Absolutely — this is a real investment and you should think it through. Let me leave you with one question: if the insurance savings cover the monthly payment, what is there left to think about? [Pause.] I'm not trying to rush you — I just want to make sure you have all the numbers before you decide."

Clarify the math
Q

"That's more than I expected."

A

"What were you expecting? [Listen.] I appreciate you being honest with me. Here's what I can tell you — a new roof on a home this size would run $18,000–$25,000. We're a fraction of that, and we come with a lifetime warranty. When you compare it to the alternative, it's actually the most affordable option on the table."

Anchor to replacement cost
Q

"I need to wait until next year."

A

"I hear you. Can I ask — what changes next year? [Listen.] The reason I ask is that every month you wait, your roof is aging in the Texas sun. UV degradation doesn't pause. And insurance deductibles are moving in one direction — up. The best time to protect a roof is before it needs it."

Create urgency
Q

"My roof is fine right now."

A

"That's actually the perfect time to do this. Our product works best on a roof that's in good condition — it seals and protects what's already there. If you wait until there's a problem, you're looking at repairs first, then the coating. Doing it now is the smart move."

Prevention angle
Q

"I just had my roof replaced."

A

"That's actually great news — you have a brand new roof to protect. Think about it this way: you just spent $20,000 on that roof. Our coating protects that investment for life, adds 250 MPH wind resistance, Class IV UL 2218 hail protection, and a lifetime warranty on top of what you already have. It's the best insurance you can buy for a new roof."

Protect the investment
Q

"I'm planning to sell in a few years."

A

"Then this is even more valuable for you. A transferable lifetime roof warranty is a listing differentiator. Buyers see 'lifetime warranted roof' and they feel confident. Realtors love it. It can add to your asking price and help you close faster. You're not spending money — you're adding equity."

Resale value angle
Q

"I've never heard of this."

A

"That's because it's new — and that's actually a good thing for you. We're the only company in the country with this patent-pending formula. Nobody else can do what we do. You're not choosing between us and a competitor — there is no competitor. This is it."

First-mover advantage
Q

"How do I know it actually works?"

A

"Great question — let me tell you about the test. We dropped a 3.5 pound rock through a 20-foot tube — that's the actual velocity of a large hailstone — directly onto a coated shingle. Zero cracks. Zero granule loss. The shingle was completely intact. We also have 250 MPH wind resistance documented. The product is currently at a certified lab in Plano completing the UL 2218 Class 4 certification. I can show you the test footage right now."

The 20-foot test story
Q

"I want to do my own research first."

A

"Absolutely — you should. Here's what I'd suggest: look up UL 2218 Class IV UL 2218 Certified certification and what it means for insurance premiums in Texas. Then look up what a standard roof replacement costs in your zip code. When you've done that, call me. I think you'll find the numbers make this an easy decision."

Guide the research
Q

"I've been burned by contractors before."

A

"I'm sorry to hear that — and I understand why you'd be cautious. What I can tell you is that we back everything with a written lifetime warranty. Not a handshake — a document. If anything ever goes wrong, we come back and fix it. That's the whole point of the warranty. You're not trusting a contractor — you're trusting a written guarantee."

Warranty as proof
Q

"This sounds too good to be true."

A

"I get that a lot — and I'd rather you be skeptical than just take my word for it. Let me show you the test footage. Let me show you the patent filing. Let me show you the lab certification in progress. Every claim I've made is documented. The reason it sounds too good to be true is that nothing like this has existed before. That's not a sales line — that's just the reality of what we built."

Prove it on the spot
Q

"I need to talk to my spouse."

A

"Of course — this is a family decision and it should be made together. Can we set up a time when you're both available? I'd love to walk through it with both of you. It only takes 20 minutes and I can answer any questions either of you have. When works best?"

Schedule the joint appointment
Q

"I want to get other quotes."

A

"I encourage that — but here's what you'll find: there is no other quote to get. No other company has this product. You can get quotes for a new roof, but that's $18,000–$25,000 with no lifetime warranty and no insurance discount. We're not competing with other coatings — we're the only coating that works. What specifically are you hoping to compare?"

There is no competition
Q

"Let me sleep on it."

A

"Absolutely — I respect that. Before I go, let me ask: is there anything I haven't answered that's making you hesitate? [Listen.] I want to make sure you have everything you need to make a confident decision. If it's just about the numbers, let me write them down for you so you have them in front of you tonight."

Uncover the real objection
Q

"I'm just not ready."

A

"That's okay. Can I ask what 'ready' looks like for you? [Listen.] Sometimes 'not ready' means there's a question I haven't answered yet. I'd rather take five more minutes now than have you make a decision without all the information. What would make you feel ready?"

Define ready
Q

"What if it doesn't work on my roof?"

A

"Our product works on any asphalt shingle roof in good condition. Before we apply anything, we do a full inspection. If for any reason your roof isn't a good candidate, we'll tell you — we won't take your money for something that won't work. That's part of the free home evaluation."

Free evaluation removes risk
Q

"My roof is old — is it too late?"

A

"It depends on the condition, not just the age. That's why we do the free inspection first. If the shingles are structurally sound, we can coat them. If there are areas that need repair first, we'll tell you exactly what's needed and what it costs. You'll have a complete picture before you make any decision."

Inspection first
Q

"What does the warranty actually cover?"

A

"The lifetime warranty means we come back and inspect the roof on a scheduled basis and do whatever is needed to keep it in perfect condition for as long as you own the home. Wind damage, hail damage, coating wear — we handle it. And when you sell the home, the warranty transfers to the new owner. It's not a limited warranty — it's a true lifetime guarantee."

Spell out the warranty
Q

"How long does the application take?"

A

"Most residential roofs are done in one day. We come out, prep the surface, apply the coating, and you're done. No tarps over your furniture, no crew in your house, no disruption to your day. You go to work in the morning and come home to a protected roof."

One day, no disruption
Q

"My insurance already covers my roof."

A

"For now — but that's changing fast. Insurance companies are pushing the Texas Board of Insurance to raise deductibles to 2.5–3% of home value. On a $400,000 home, that's $10,000–$12,000 before insurance pays a single dollar. Our product prevents the damage in the first place, so you never have to file a claim. And with our Class IV certification, you'll get a 20–40% discount on your premium. Plus — and this is the part most people don't know — ArmorShield is the only clear acrylic with a UL Class B fire rating from Underwriters Laboratory. That's up to 18% more savings on top of the Class IV discount. No other product qualifies for both."

Deductible reality check + double discount
Q

"When does the insurance discount kick in?"

A

"Immediately — we have the UL 2218 Class IV certification in hand. You show that to your carrier and the discount applies. And here's something most reps don't mention: ArmorShield also carries a UL Class B fire rating from Underwriters Laboratory — the only clear acrylic product in the world to have it. In fire-prone states like Texas, Oklahoma, California, and Colorado, that fire rating discount alone can save you up to 18% more on your homeowners insurance every year. Two separate discounts. No other product gives you both."

Two discounts — Class IV + UL Class B fire
Q

"My insurance agent said they don't know about this."

A

"That's because it's new — and it's unlike anything they've seen before. ArmorShield has two separate certifications that trigger two separate insurance discounts: the UL 2218 Class IV impact rating, and a UL Class B fire rating from Underwriters Laboratory — the only clear acrylic product in the world to hold both. Your agent will know exactly what to do with the documentation. The Class IV discount is standard. The fire rating discount — up to 18% more — is the one that will surprise them."

Isolates the objection

"I'm not here to sell you — I'm here to show you."

Removes sales pressure

"The insurance savings alone can cover the monthly payment."

Budget objection closer

"There is no other product like this — I'm not competing with anyone."

Comparison objection

"The warranty is written — not a handshake."

Trust objection

"Can I ask what 'ready' looks like for you?"

Timing objection

The 3-Step Objection Framework — Use Every Time

1
Acknowledge

Never argue. Never dismiss. Say: "I understand" or "That's a fair concern" or "I hear you." The customer needs to feel heard before they'll hear you.

2
Clarify

Ask a question to make sure you understand the real objection. "When you say it's too expensive — is it the total cost, or the monthly payment?" Most objections have a real question underneath them.

3
Answer & Advance

Give your response, then move forward. "Does that answer your question? If so, let's talk about which package makes the most sense for your home." Always advance after answering — don't let the conversation stall.
