FAQ | Hi-Tech Roof Solutions — Your Questions Answered

Question 1

What exactly is Hi-Tech Roof Solutions?

Accepted Answer

Hi-Tech Roof Solutions is a U.S. patented roof restoration and protection system — not a coating, not a patch job, and not a replacement. We rebuild the ceramic granules on your existing shingles, apply a breathable elastomeric coating, and add a wind and hail protection layer. The result is a roof that's stronger than the day it was installed, protected against 250 MPH winds and 3-inch hail, and backed by a warranty that eliminates your storm deductible.

Question 2

Is this just a roof coating?

Accepted Answer

No — and this is one of the most important distinctions we make. Standard roof coatings are rigid, trap moisture, crack in heat, and peel over time. Our system is a breathable elastomeric formula that flexes with your roof through extreme temperature cycles. It expands and contracts without breaking the seal. It also breathes, so moisture can escape from underneath. On top of that, we rebuild your granules first — something no coating company does.

Question 3

What is the ceramic granule rebuild?

Accepted Answer

Granules are the small ceramic particles embedded in your shingles. They protect against UV rays, impact, and heat. Over time — especially after hail or wind events — shingles lose 30–60% of their granules. When granules are gone, the asphalt underneath is exposed and your roof ages rapidly. Our U.S. patented process applies certified original-style ceramic granules back onto your shingles and permanently bonds them in place. They cannot be dislodged — proven by our high-pressure water test.

Question 4

Does it work on old roofs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our system works on any asphalt shingle roof regardless of age or condition — as long as the structural decking is sound. We repair everything first: cracked shingles, missing pieces, damaged flashing, clogged vents. We don't apply our system over problems. We fix them, then protect the roof. Homeowners with 15–20 year old roofs are often our best candidates because they're facing the most deductible exposure.

Question 5

How long does the installation take?

Accepted Answer

One day. Our entire process — assessment, repair, granule rebuild, coating, protection layer, and final inspection — is completed in a single visit. You wake up with an aging, vulnerable roof and go to bed with a fully protected, warranted system. No second visits. No weeks of disruption.

Question 6

Will it change the look of my roof?

Accepted Answer

Our ceramic granule rebuild restores your shingles to their original color and texture — or better. Most homeowners say their roof looks newer after our treatment than it has in years. The coating adds a slight sheen that fades to a natural finish within a few weeks.

Question 7

How does it protect against 250 MPH winds?

Accepted Answer

Our system bonds your shingles to the roof deck with a strength that far exceeds standard installation. The elastomeric coating creates a continuous membrane across the entire roof surface — no individual shingles to lift, no gaps for wind to get underneath. We've tested this with a 250 MPH / 400 CFM Black & Decker blower applied directly to treated shingles. Zero movement. Zero damage.

Question 8

What about hail — how does it stop 3-inch hail?

Accepted Answer

Three-inch hail is the size of a baseball. Standard shingles crack, dent, and lose granules on impact. Our ceramic granule rebuild creates a reinforced surface layer, and our elastomeric coating absorbs and distributes impact energy across the entire surface rather than concentrating it at a single point. The result is a roof that takes a direct hit from 3-inch hail without cracking, denting, or losing granules.

Question 9

What's the difference between Standard and the Warranty Plan?

Accepted Answer

Standard Protection — included with every installation — covers 250 MPH wind and 3-inch hail. The Warranty Plan upgrade extends that to 250 MPH wind and 4-inch hail, and adds full storm damage coverage at $0 cost to you. With the Warranty Plan, if a storm damages your roof, we repair it — you pay nothing. No deductible. No insurance claim. No hassle.

Question 10

Is the wind resistance certified?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our system is Texas Windstorm Engineer Approved — one of the most rigorous certifications in the country. We also carry documentation from our own 250 MPH blower test. When your insurance company asks for proof, we have it.

Question 11

What if a storm still damages my roof after installation?

Accepted Answer

Under our Standard Protection, storm damage beyond the rated limits would be handled through your insurance — but at that point your deductible still applies. Under the Warranty Plan, storm damage is covered by us at no cost to you, regardless of your insurance deductible. This is why we recommend the Warranty Plan for homeowners in high-storm areas like DFW, Central Texas, and coastal Louisiana.

Question 12

How does this affect my insurance deductible?

Accepted Answer

With our Standard Protection, your roof is now certified to withstand 250 MPH wind and 3-inch hail — which means fewer claims, and many insurers will lower your premium as a result. With the Warranty Plan, storm damage is covered by us directly, so your deductible becomes irrelevant for roof claims. You can even raise your deductible to lower your monthly premium, and put those savings into a dedicated interest-bearing account.

Question 13

Will my insurance company recognize this?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We provide complete documentation including product certifications, application records, before-and-after photos, and our Texas Windstorm Engineer Approval. This is exactly what insurers need to recognize your roof's upgraded protection status. Many of our customers have seen measurable premium reductions after providing this documentation to their insurer.

Question 14

My deductible is 2% of my home value — is that normal?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately, yes — and it's getting worse. Insurers across the country have been raising wind and hail deductibles aggressively. On a $350,000 home, a 2% deductible is $7,000 per storm. At 3%, that's $10,500. If you file two claims in a year, you're out $14,000–$21,000 before your insurance pays a dime. Our Savings Calculator shows you exactly what that adds up to over 5, 10, or 15 years.

Question 15

Will filing a claim affect my ability to get coverage?

Accepted Answer

That's a real concern — insurers across the continental U.S. have been dropping homeowners after multiple claims. With our Warranty Plan, you never need to file a roof claim again. Storm damage is handled by us. Your claims history stays clean, which protects your insurability.

Question 16

Can I use my insurance to pay for Hi-Tech Roof Solutions?

Accepted Answer

If you have existing storm damage that hasn't been repaired, your insurer may cover the repair portion of our work. We document all existing damage during our free assessment. We recommend calling your insurer before scheduling if you believe you have a pending claim. We're happy to work alongside your adjuster.

Question 17

What happens during the free assessment?

Accepted Answer

One of our certified specialists comes to your home and performs a full inspection — shingle condition, granule loss, ventilation, attic, flashing, and any existing storm damage. We photograph everything and walk you through what we find. There's no pressure and no obligation. You get a clear picture of your roof's condition and a straight answer about whether our system is right for you.

Question 18

Do I need to be home during installation?

Accepted Answer

We recommend being home at the start and end of the day — for the walkthrough and the final inspection. You don't need to be present during the work itself. Our crew is fully insured, background-checked, and professional. We treat your property with respect.

Question 19

What if my roof has existing damage?

Accepted Answer

We fix it first. Cracked shingles, missing pieces, damaged flashing, clogged vents — all of it gets repaired before we apply our system. This is one of the things that separates us from every other company. We don't coat over problems. We eliminate them.

Question 20

How do I prepare for installation day?

Accepted Answer

Very little is required from you. Make sure we have clear access to your roof and that any fragile items near the roofline are moved. We handle everything else. Installation is typically complete in one full day.

Question 21

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

We now serve all 48 continental U.S. states. Our proven markets include the DFW Metroplex, Austin, San Antonio, Killeen, Temple, Tyler, Longview, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Chicago, Denver, Atlanta, and more. If you're anywhere in the continental U.S., call us — we come to you.

Question 22

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

Cost depends on your roof size, condition, and location. As a general reference, our system typically runs a fraction of what a full roof replacement costs — and it eliminates the need for replacement entirely. We provide a clear, itemized Roof Health Report™ after your assessment. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Question 23

Is it worth it compared to just replacing my roof?

Accepted Answer

Run the numbers. A full roof replacement costs $12,000–$35,000 and still leaves you paying deductibles on the new roof. Our system costs significantly less, eliminates deductibles, and doesn't need to be replaced. Use our Savings Calculator to see the exact comparison for your home value and storm frequency.

Question 24

Does it increase my home's value?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A certified, protected roof with documented wind and hail resistance is a tangible selling point. Buyers and appraisers recognize the value of a roof that won't need replacing and carries a warranty. Many of our customers report that the system more than pays for itself in home value alone — before counting the deductible savings.

Question 25

Do you offer financing?

Accepted Answer

Contact us to discuss payment options. We work with homeowners to find solutions that make sense. Call 1-888-237-8070 or submit a quote request and we'll walk you through what's available.

Question 26

What's the ROI on the Warranty Plan?

Accepted Answer

For most homeowners nationwide, the Warranty Plan pays for itself after a single storm. If you're on a $300,000 home with a 2% deductible, one storm costs you $6,000 out of pocket. The Warranty Plan eliminates that — permanently. Over 10 years with 2 storms per year, the math is overwhelming. Our Savings Calculator shows you the exact numbers for your situation.

Question 27

Are you licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We carry $2 million in liability insurance per home, plus Errors & Omissions coverage. We are fully licensed and insured. Our credentials are on file and available upon request.

Question 28

What awards and credentials does Hi-Tech Roof Solutions hold?

Accepted Answer

Hi-Tech Roof Solutions holds the Angi Super Service Award, Texas Windstorm Engineer Approval, Certified Roof Ventilation Expert designation, $2 Million Liability Insurance per home, Errors & Omissions Coverage, and a U.S. Patent on our proprietary roof restoration process.

Question 29

What is the Angi Super Service Award?

Accepted Answer

The Angi Super Service Award is given to the top-rated service providers on the Angi platform based on verified customer reviews, responsiveness, and overall service quality. It's one of the most recognized trust signals in the home services industry.

Question 30

What does "Texas Windstorm Engineer Approved" mean?

Accepted Answer

Texas has some of the strictest windstorm certification requirements in the country — especially for coastal and high-wind areas. Our system has been reviewed and approved by a licensed Texas Windstorm Engineer, meaning it meets the structural and performance standards required for windstorm insurance coverage in Texas.

Question 31

How long has Hi-Tech Roof Solutions been in business?

Accepted Answer

Our founder has 40+ years of experience in roofing and restoration. The Hi-Tech system is the result of decades of hands-on work, research, and refinement. We're not a startup — we're a proven operation with a track record across DFW, Austin, San Antonio, Killeen, Temple, Tyler, Longview, and markets nationwide.
